Two Writing Exercises:

1) You found this photo while going through some albums at your mother's house.

What's the first thought you have?

Keep writing....

2) What's something you've been meaning to do but never find the time for?

Free writing is a great technique. Just write the first thing that pops into your head and go with it.

Time it is kicked away
like a crumbling soccer ball,
patched and nurtured
after every game.
We roll along, sometimes
in a straight line,
mostly zigzagging thru life,
never staying too long
and not often coming back
as the same person.
I think of friends I once knew
and wish with all my being
to slow this ball, to pause
and remember, to grab pen
and paper, to say hello,
once more.

My son's soccer games every saturday in Murphy's near Big Trees - making cookies or brownies for all the kids. Wonderful memories of times long passed.
Tresure your children for they are grown while time passes by.

WHY? said...

I never played sports in school, but I used to love running. I've been meaning to get back to it, but I guess I never make time for it in my daily life. It's just a matter of doing it, I know!

I love your inspirational blog.
It reminds me of a teacher I use to have, she would show us a picture
or say the first sentence
and we would take it from there and write a story - just a few lines
or as many as we wanted.
I loved that teacher and I have not thought about her or the writing
exercise for a long time until
you just ask me to write about a soccer picture.
Thanks for the reminding me!!!

And, thank you, for the nice compliment, Roxy! I'm glad you find this inspiring, and that it brought back some good memories.

1. "Who are these people?"
2. I've been missing out my reading and writing and some academic homeworks and projects i must be doing right now instead of sitting here infront of the computer.

the photograph reminds of my little brother who loved all sports. makes me miss the old times. I've been meaning to travel, but I keep putting it off because I hate flying!
