The little girls look like ghosts. Reminds me of this Spanish movie (El Orfanato) "The Orphanage".
Great photo!

What stirs me into movement is good old competition!! Sounds slightly naughty, but I love to compete. Don't think I do it consciously, but I do know that I hate to lose so I am stirred to try an excel in everything I do. NOt that I always do so well, but it's the trying that counts. For me anyway.

Love this image, too!!

I am stirred by strangers. It's rather funny but whenever I have a particular problem, I find my answers by talking to strangers. I don't bring up my problem, but the conversation seems to naturally flow to whatever issue I am having. I have to listen carefully though. And, pay attention.

Thanks for writing, everyone!

Flor, I'll have to rent that movie since I love foreign movies :)
This photo is a great one. So many talented artists and photographers out there!!!

" I usually find myself stirred either in thought or physical action by music, typical and kind of corny I know. But I seem to garner most of my energy from a well written piece of music, most of my emotion at that moment coming from the lyrics. "

Lines flow into a sequence,
her pale dress flitting
about chubby limbs,
grace somehow achieved amidst
the awkwardness of new movement.

She slides, steps and twirls
to the nursery rhyme
playing in her head,
eyes closed tight,
the room is large
no need to see the walls,
her legs will not carry her
that far.

She imagines a ballroom
from the peeling paint
and crumbling brick,
and feels the worn plank floor
beneath her feet as if
cool marble below glass slippers;
a princess adorned with
shimmering jewels.

Though others would shiver
with each wave of
creeping draft she continues
oblivious to the world;
for now at least.
Her imaginary friends
will keep her strong
as she rules from her
termite infested throne,
buried beneath the simplicity
of daisy chains.

She is happy, but I am not.
My mind wanders to a deeper
thought, those who see her
seem to be unaware of my
persistent presence
as if I am simply a figment
of her vivid imagination,
but I am seen by those
she lovingly gathers
in her short arms an speaks
her inner most secrets to;
cautiously I pose a question
to myself,
am I her imaginary friend
or is she mine?

I am stirred by confidence. Confidence breeds confidence.
If a person shows the confidence to dance then others will dance as well.

Sloth is my favorite vice. Though I find it difficult to sleep, once I fall asleep, hardly anything can stir me awake. Alarm clocks have to be loud and repetitive to jar me from slumber. The world can only wait until I'm ready to wake up and be stirred to get out of bed. And then, when awake, it's a slow motion to full awareness.

Merry, merry Christmas! Thanks for your blog and how it stirs me to write. A beautiful gift to us who need to be stirred up, inspired, moved.
