Valediction stands in the way of eternity. Always.

Hi! I've been following your blog for a little while and really took a liking to this picture. I used it in my blog (which was actually meant to follow your theme too, but somehow went off in a different direction), and I just wanted to come back and make sure that it is okay for me to post it on my blog. I made sure to post a link to both this blog and Dungha's.

If it is a problem, let me know and I'll remove it.

Ha ha you are too funny.

My pictures are like my religion, reformed one day and off the wagon the next.

That is an old photo, maybe the early 40's or early 50's. I see the 8 boys and what comes to mind is,
"then there was one."
I don't know why, it just does. Have a great weekend.

Hi Emily: I'm pleased that you liked this image and that it inspired you to write your lovely post. I just read it and it did follow the prompt very nicely:) One thing though, please email Dungha and ask him for permission since it is his photo. Then clearly state that you were given consent on your post. I appreciate that you not only linked to my blog but to his, and for asking! Thank you:)

(poem by Therese L. Broderick of Albany, NY, USA)

MOMENTS IN ETERNITY, NO. 8

Almost half of this old photo
is too dark to see, blackened
by a poor exposure
many years ago
when these eight schoolboys
first sat and posed

and darkened even further by
all the years in between.

Now one of the boys is grown,
taking photographs of his own.
When set alongside his newest
picture of a bright white bird,
a kingfisher floating on a lake,

that same shadow, still growing,
comes into perfect focus.

This is so wonderful. I just adore the faded quality! Almost ghost like appearance. Very nice!!!!!
