I don't know about changing my life, but I listened to Bread's "Baby I'm a Want You" for six months after I broke up with a high school sweetheart. I can't remember now whether this song got me out of my grief or made me delve deeper into it!

The one song that does change me in some ways is John Lennon's "So this is Christmas." It's a bit depressing, but it does make me think about the coming year and what I need to do to better my life.

WHO...No, Really...WHO?

Wild Cherry was the group,
That played that funky tune.
Our group played, "Um..I forgot"
I might remember soon.

The Band is what we call ourselves,
Kinda catchy...dontcha think?
Easy to remember...
Not dumb like "Frijid Pink"

Our first big hit was duh, er, hmmm
It doesn't come to mind
Our second smash was uh, uh, duh
Or something of the kind.

Music comes and music goes,
We'll still remain THE BAND,
Why people can't remember us,
I'll never understand.

MISS LIBERTY TAX SERVICE BLUES

My income tax return is due too soon.
By midnight tomorrow my tax return is due.
Yet here I stand, still in my bright green suit.

Not even Lady Liberty can get an exemption.
No matter who I pretend to be, I'm no exception.
And here I stand by the street, velour-costumed.

Oh, please don't pass me by in your SUV
without waving to Miss Liberty,
without waving to Miss Liberty.
