Some say animals have no soul
to them I then ask,
why is their joy, love and life
behind each of their adoring
eyes, in the excitement of their
tongues, a reminder of fully devoted companionship declared in every bark.

Diablo, a snapshot

Chocolate brown eyes guiltily gazed into mine as she lay on her back all four legs pointing to the ceiling. This would have been fine if not for the fact that she was lying on my kitchen table, all 160 pounds of newfoundland pyrenees cross that shed long black hair like, well like a dog. It was if I was living in a Marley Fowat tale, and had unknowingly bought the dog who wouldn't be. Clumsily she managed to half jump half roll off the table and saunter over to her food dish, looking back at me with her imploring puppy eyes.

What a wonderful concept and service you are offering. It's so true that photos can trigger inspiration in a writer's soul. I am so touched by this photograph. They say the eyes are the window into the soul. When I look into an animal's, I sometimes see more compassion that I do when staring into a human's. I look forward to visiting your site often.

Thank you, for your kind words, Quiet Observer :)

And, to both you and Sarah, I agree wholeheartedly, that not only do animals have a soul, but they possess the best kind.
