Splendid image. Simple, but evocative.
Harmony comes in pairs, couplets, things divisible by two. Two reds, two yellows, two greens, two blues, four ladies, four bowls, four arms, eight feet. A pleasant rhythm and a cheerful painting.

I can't even picture myself without running water or indoor plumbing. The one or two times I've gone camping (against my will) I was absolutely miserable even though there was a public restroom nearby. It shocks me when I see pictures of people who do live without these luxuries that we take for granted, and they are smiling and look so, so grateful for just being alive!!
I want to hang this picture on my wall! Stunning!
I would perish if I had to live without the comforts you mention. At the same time, I guess like everything else, if you've never had it, you don't miss it? Still, I am extremely grateful for what I have, and I hope to God that I never have to go without. You know, tragedy, like what they're going through in Australia, can strike us at anytime.

TO LAKE TURKANA
She walks without shoes for miles
past jealous crocodiles,
hitting the sudden blasts of wind
blowing over the basin,
balancing water in an earthen jar
on the top of her hair,
knowing that her ancestors called
the waters here Ka'alakol,
(not Turkana, not Rudolph)--
she bears it, she bears all of it
wearing silver bracelets.
The vivid colors all work together to make this an exquisite painting. Having lived in Africa, I am aware of how far some people have to travel for the things we take for granted. I often remind myself of this. Whoever buys this painting will always be reminded of how lucky we are.

I love that. Their silky headwear floating lively. I think the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this piece was...red sails in the sunset. I don't know why, but that's what I saw. Take care.

I love Tessa work!! It is always, always beautifully colored and textured. She is brilliant with her compositions as well. She tells such wonderfuls wordless stories with her work. Great post.
