I'm addicted to books, coffee, chocolate, my computer, and the list goes on...
Addictions, hmmm,
*deep breath*
...
chocolate
dogs
e-mail
good times
happiness
kisses
long hot showers
music
cherry red nail polish
spectacular views of nature
time alone
walks on the beach at 4am
...
to name a few ;)
I'm addicted to the Internet. There have been several times I've stayed up the whole night, then still awake and online throughout the morning, until the next night when I couldn't force myself anymore. Whence online I rarely stop in my own initiative. My eyes are often itchy...
Despite my attemps to fool myself, I have to confess that I am getting addicted to the internet.
I am addicted to cats, too.
I find myself spending lots of times with both addictions in my lap.
A HAPPY, HEALTHY ADDICTION
I know the hour's late,
But there's things that just can't wait,
I have to end each day,
With the words I have to say.
Anticipation starts my morning,
Reading wonders that's been said.
Wisdom, prose and poetry,
Are whirling in my head
Addicted? Maybe so.
That's why I always hurry,
To get my poems on line
For Every Photo Tells A Story
Addiction and habit
have a thin line between..
to know its parameters
everyone is keen..
i could tell
only if i knew..
but sincerely telling
i don't have a cue..
When my habit becomes an addiction
i never get to know..
When my passion makes me an enthusiast
i never get to know..
So utill i find out
the secret behind..
let habits and addictions merge
i don't mind..
Addictions can morph into obsessions which, if so constructed, trigger OCD behavior which can destroy relationships, jobs, a whole host of things. I know this from experience. I dislike addictions.
I think the internet plays a big role in my life. Not just for the blogs but for every day reference, etc. I still have my huge dictionary and I do use it when needed. I don't think I'm addicted to the internet, just have gotten used to using like watching tv or listening to the radio or all 3 at the same time:))
I love licorice and sometimes I think I am addicted to that. Oh well I'm definitely addicted to LIFE.
Have a great Wednesday.
Why, Sarah-Paige, Aries, Paulo, James, Sudharm, Stephen, and Gloria: Thank you for stopping by and contributing your thoughts, stories, and poems! Perhaps it's not an addiction, but we all share one thing in common: blogging:) And, James, I really like your "addiction." Good answer:)
Consid'ring addictions (and many there are)
I've come to notice that I've got but one.
From the banal to the truly bizarre
Mine is the one that won't see me undone.
Smoking? Ick. Gambling? Not in the equation.
Coffee? Yuck. Boozing? Not ev'n from persuasion.
Drugs? I don't touch 'em. Food? In moderation.
Shopping? I hate it. Net? That whole invasion?!?
Sex? I don't need (but enjoy on occasion).
And that's a quick run-down on my situation.
Of all the addictions: some big and some small,
My only vice is to have none at all.
Such a great illustration and your take on it, Michael, did make me chuckle!
I think we're probably all a little addicted to the Internet these days, but as glorv1 says, maybe it's just that it has become part of our lives.
I didn't even notice the flash when this was taken.
xoxo
