The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring’d with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

Victory is what i crave for
Victory is what i can kill for
Indeed for victory i can die for

Describing victory is not a child's play
it's not like building castles with the wet clay

RISING ABOVE IT ALL

The eagle soars to distant heights,
On wings outstretched in glory.
Its noble form and grace,
Prompting many a writers' story

The symbol of the eagle,
Has carried many things...
Bravery and Courage,
And Freedom on its wings

Its escape from earthly bounds
Has been noted throughout history,
That's why the eagle's image,
Is also used for victory.

I rarely post twice a day...but I'm moved to offer a musing...

We must appreciate our failures as well as our victories. For it through our failures, that we are shown the path to victory.

There are loads of bald eagles around where I live. They are fascinating birds. I once saw an aerial fight between an osprey and a bald eagle (both birds are about the same size) and the osprey had the aggressive edge. I was not surprised, since I've been chased away from an osprey's nest whereas most eagles stay clear of humans. Nice painting.

The bald eagle, a creature of beauty. If I could soar in the sky as it does, why I'd be a thing of beauty as well.......
the end.
:) Have a great week Nancy.

Sudharm: Thank you for sharing your link:)

James: I agree. It's always through our failures and mistakes that we learn our greatest lessons and "hopefully" take the path offered to us!

Stephen and Gloria: Eagles are such noble AND beautiful creatures! And, I adore ospreys. I can watch and listen to them all day: Ospreys building a nest.

A little bird
did I espy
so I looked up
while it flew by
as I looked up
and it flew by
the little bird
pooped in my eye

Majestic eagle
full of grace
was soaring high
in clouds' embrace
while soaring high
in clouds' embrace
the eagle pooped
and hit my face
