Art for the Animals is a project
where artists paint, illustrate, etc.
an animal in a local animal shelter
of their choice,
then donate it to that shelter.
The shelter can either keep the artwork,
sell it or auction it off. It's their choice.
It's that simple, but the results are profound.

Nancy,
I enjoy your blog very much. I also want to thank you for your kindness and comments on my blog.
Katelen
My pleasure, Katelen:) Thank you for saying so.
I sure do like the way that doggie Duke with the beard looks. Paint job well done. I love oil paintng, but it can get messy. What a great job he has done in their eyes. Searching for you could be a great title for both of them. Nala looks like she wants to be cuddled. Thx for sharing.
Such beautiful paintings. What a great cause, too. I've always wanted to help out at an animal shelter, but I couldn't bear seeing their helpless faces. If I had any artistic abilities, I would join in. I used to be a dog person, but I'm both, now. I don't have any pets right at the moment, but I think I'd like to adopt a cat when I am able. I prefer their independent nature.
*My word verification is curecat! How odd is that?
I'm definitely a dog person, but I have a cat, too. You can read about him here. The entries help to explain why I'm a dog person.
Cute portraits of pets. Nicely done.
I just read your posting "The cat writes a letter," and it is absolutely hysterical. What else is new? Thanks for sharing, Michael, and I'll be reading the rest.
Stephen: Actually these are portraits of animals sheltered at the Winnipeg Humane Society. So, they're not pets yet.
PAWS N' FUR APPLAUSE
My name is Duke,
And I'm one proud dog...
Got my smiling mug
On a world famous Blog.
My cat pal Nala,
Jealous eyes a glowing green,
Almost flipped over backwards,
When she saw me on the screen.
"What about Me?" she said.
I said "Don't worry."
Cause you're on there too...
