Mary with black umbrella to Lisa: I sometimes wonder why we are here. I get this way when I stare out into the ocean. What do you think of Lisa?

Lisa to Mary: I don't know, I'm not sure. I sort of get in a trance and I feel as though I'm out there floating with the waves. It's rather eerie, so vast. It was a fun day though Mary, we need to do this again. I guess that's why we're here, to see the beauty that God Created.

Mary to Lisa: Of course, you're right. We're here to enjoy Gods beauty while we can but for now we've got to pick up the kids and get home and cook. Just another day.

Do you think our ship will ever come in?
Yes, I am sure but you know we will probably be at the airport instead.

"I can't believe they sailed without us!"

Betty looks up at her friend. "They said not to be late, Gladys."

"I just wanted to see those last 5 shops and have a little lunch. I thought there was time."

Betty stares out over the ocean and sighs. "Yeah, well ... guess there wasn't. What do we do now?"

"Hey Betty, know how to swim?"

They both start laughing.

"Come on, Gladys ... let's have tea."

I would have thrown him the rope, but it looked too heavy. Why didn't you throw him the rope?

I just had my hair done.

-How much did the operation cost?
-A couple of grand.
-Did the doctor say anything about your age?
-No, he could see that I was not meant to be a man. Age has nothing to do with what one feels.

Greetings from London.

MEM"MER"IES

Two friends stand side by side,
And gaze across the sea.
As if the water's life itself...
The waves old memories.

The sights and sounds of many wonders,
Have graced their eyes and ears.
And now collect in eddies,
In the tide pool of passing years.

They contemplate and ponder,
Past times of joy and fun,
Analyze their own mortality,
And wonder what's beyond.

Out on the blue horizon,
A ship is growing small,
It soon becomes a tiny speck,
And then, no sight at all.

To them, it well may seem,
The ship's trek is over and done,
But beyond the far horizon,
It's journey's just begun.

What time did you say the Titanic was due in Gladys?

Tweedles -- that's me said...

It seemed like only yesterday, but it was 1912.
It's so distant in my frail mind as I think back, when we followed our dream, and left our familys standing on the Norway shore, to never see again.
Did we do the right thing? Were we brave?
To follow the dream of freedom and a better life?
I remember us standing there in the rain- my friend and I, with broken hearts, tears streaming down our faces, as we sailed away from what we knew- to a baren land that we did not know.
Did we do the right thing?

To Tweedles - I like your thoughts, it fits the image which was shot near the Statue of Liberty, you can't see it in the image but a little to right, the statue of Liberty is there

I wrote this a while back for this particular pic:

callous minutes drifts by
interfering with the unmovable day
a persistent nag shifts to the left
spells of drag flying among the day trippers
dusty farewells flickering about
waiting for another moment
hoping for something new

which you can also read it hereday trippers
