She rode on, her shadow circling in the damp mist; a suffocating blindfold risen from the field's floor. Hoof beats ground the cricket's song in F sharp under a sky of newborn stars. A still breeze is stirred by forgein movement, bodies together albeit physically seperated in a paradox heed the call of an Owl's hoot. Sewing their feathers back together a journey is rendered sorrow filled, a girl and her horse thunder by.

Three years ago "Sweet Joy",
A colt so gently tame,
Was brought into my fold,
Since then, life's not the same.

The two of us have grown,
Sharing wonders of this world,
And now the two are one,
A horse...A little girl.

Freedom, awe, deliverance,
Words fail to share the feeling,
Of the wondrous power beneath me,
That sends my senses reeling.

We embrace the universe,
As we take our midnight ride,
And return home safe by daybreak,
Fulfilled and gratified.

Although the image is very dreamlike, it jogs my distant memory about an old television program from the fifties called, My Friend Flicka

it's all a memory now
i remember you
what would i do
to have you back again
the hole in my heart is big
a part of me died
when you closed
your eyes for the last
when we said goodbye
let me smell
your sweet breath
nuzzle my face
let me look in your brown eyes
lets sail across the sky
i will clench your mane
run fast
don't stop
take me with you
i would give anything
anything at all
it's all a memory
my tears won't stop!

Mary dreamed about a horse
It gave her great delight
Although she was confined to bed
She'd ride it every night
