What an adorable little creature. It's difficult to be bold at times--I know this from experience. Oh! little one come out of the shadows and let your gaze define your magnitude!
Excellent post Nancy!

Scruffy one eyed
so still a stare
straight through to the heart

What a sweet rag-a-muffin:) I love the shadow on the lower right of this photo, it highlights his right eye. I want to give him a smoooch on his nose:)

i love what faith wrote "none other can see as much with two." being an absolute dog lover i believe not only do they "see" better than us, but they "feel" better. my dog knew when i was depressed before i did.

Peering from one eye,
he lowers a scruffy head;
You be my master?

Hamish was my favourite teddy bear in his little plaid suit and I can never quite take seriously anyone else's claim to the name, whether elderly neighbour or squinting scruffy dog....

Don't you...
...remember me?
I know that you've seen me before.

Didn't you...
...see Return of the Jedi?
(Yes, much better than Episode 4.)

No, I...
...I wasn't an Ewok.
Don't worry, I've heard that before.

I was...
...I was your puppy.
The one that you used to ignore.

I was...
...I was your puppy.
Abandoned on the cold theatre floor.
