My photo doesn't exactly echo yours but I think the verse fits.
I apologize for being a downer on Mother's Day, but this photo only evoked a mood of sadness for me. P.S. My verification word for this entry was folme.
Mother? Mother?
"Mother, Please don't leave me"
In a tearful voice I call her.
"You're headed down a path,
I'm not prepared to follow"
The doctor said your illness,
Would take you from this life,
Leaving me without a mother,
And Daddy without a wife.
As you slowly fade into the mist,
Pain inside me starts to grow.
And my mind screams out the question,
"Oh, Mother...Must You Go?"

When I was in college I realized I was pursuing the wrong profession. I was only doing it to please my parents. I wanted to quit so badly, but I couldn't. I wasn't a quitter. It wasn't a perfect ending, but I'm glad I finished. For me.
I think she just told her child that if he/she didn't follow her, she was going to leave and he didn't want to go home yet, so she just turned around and proceeded to walk away. We know of course she wasnt going to leave him.
