Friend are like precious
jewels that shine and bring joy
to your life and health.
A close friend can be a tremendous support in times of need or weakness and can be a colossal pain in the ass sometimes.
A mere acquaintance can never be a true pain in the ass; that requires closeness, some history, and knowing all the buttons.
A true friend can be a friend for those very reasons.

AH, YES...I REMEMBER IT WELL
Carol says to Sharon,
"Remember when we met?"
Then Sharon says to Carol,
"Oh yes, but where?, hmm..I forget"
And Lucy says to Margaret,
"We had great times, as I recall"
So Margaret says to Lucy.
"Was it Costa Rica, or Marble Falls?"
It's great when friends get together,
And reminisce about the past,
But putting it all together,
Is sometimes a pain in the...
Cerebral Region.
Janice, do you remember the night we went parking with Nick and Tommy? We got home and your father was so angry. I thought he was going to call my mother! Or hit us!!
Oh, we had so much fun that summer. And, you were so beautiful. So was I! I miss Nick so much. He was always a good husband and father. He was my best friend. He would do anything for me.
Did you hear that Annie Miller is getting married again? That tramp! I still don't know what the men see in her. Oh yes! They know she's a tramp. You make me laugh Janice. You're such a dear friend.
What were you saying? I said are you praying? No I am not staying.
Margaret what were you saying?
Funnily enough there are no pictures of friends on my blog today, Just memories.

'Forty years on...'
Greetings from London.
You have inspired me pull out my old poetry and share with my friends and followers on my blog.
I've put several poems up so far....I have not written seriously in a long time.
Maybe I will start again...thanks to you.
Thank you, Carole, for your nice note. I'm glad you've been inspired to share your poetry and hope you will be inspired to write more!
just being together is all right!!!
What is life without good friends? And, old friends are the best.
These friends have learned to forgive. They have learned what is important, and what is trivial. They love you for you and not for what you do or what you have.
I want to share what I think is the best friendship quote by George Elliot-
“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.”
