I'm here to tell a story,
It's one you may find sad.
In the painting is my mother,
On the wall hangs deadbeat dad.

My parents hadn't married,

Great photo. Instead of gray and black and the artist's mother, it's the bride probably wed to a wealthy husband (hence green and black) whose financial dominance draws the same sort of narcissistic devotion that Whistler’s painting stood for regarding motherhood………at least that’s my view, anyway.

So this was my wedding day
I waited and I waited
He didn't come
I sit to ponder
What do I do next?

Nancy, have a great weekend.
